Welcome to Wanakah Country Club

Wanakah Country Club is located on beautiful Lake Erie in Hamburg New York, about a 15 minute drive from downtown Buffalo. We boast an 18 hole golf course, seasonal swimming pool and tennis courts. The club retains golf, tennis and swim professionals and operates a full service clubhouse which houses men's and ladies' locker facilities, formal dining room, banquet facility, informal grill room and heated outdoor patio.

Our constitution limits the number of golfing memberships to just 290, so the course is rarely crowded and tee times are unnecessary. It is a Wanakah tradition to just show up and play! We operate a full service golf pro shop and a full schedule of member and member-guest tournaments. A special women's program is geared for the serious and the not-so-serious golfer. There is a junior program where even the littlest ones get a taste of the game.

Our seasonal swimming pool rather dramatically overlooks Lake Erie. The pool house facility was completely renovated in May of 2012. We offer a popular swim program where, in addition of having a great time and learning to swim, our youngsters compete against other area clubs.

Wanakah maintains three har-tru artificial clay tennis courts that are lit at night. There are organized programs for juniors, women, men and doubles. There is always plenty of open court time if you just want to knock it around.

The club has an active social committee which presents a full slate of activities, year-round. Holiday parties abound, there is a huge 4^th of July celebration, Mother's Day, Easter and Thanksgiving dinners, comedy nights, formal wine dinners, fun dances, theme parties, kid's events….you get the idea. The clubhouse offers upscale lunches and dinners six days a week in season, five days the rest of the year. The club provides the setting for many beautiful weddings each year and we are blessed with a dedicated and loyal staff, many who have been here for decades.

Membership – we believe that Wanakah is a unique experience. Unlike some of the larger clubs, Wanakah offers more personal service and like Cheers, everyone will know your name.
